Alden BORE submersible deepwell pump with control box, slim stainless body for boreholes

A deep well submersible pump is a slim, multistage pump that sits inside a borehole below the water level and pushes water to the surface. Alden’s BORE series (0.5 to 3 hp) comes with a control box; the WELL series (1 to 3 hp) is an open-well submersible pump for wells, tanks and reservoirs.

Farms, villas on well water and remote sites often rely on a borehole. A deep well pump is long and narrow to fit the casing, and uses several stages to lift water from depth. The BORE series ships with a control box that houses the starting components and protection.

The WELL open-well submersible pump is designed for open wells, cisterns and storage tanks, where the pump can be lowered into the water and the pipe run to the point of use. It is a convenient upgrade from surface pumps that struggle with suction lift.

Benefits

  • Lifts from depthMultistage pumps overcome deep static water levels.
  • Slim designFits narrow borehole casings.
  • Control box includedBORE comes with a control box with starting and protection components.
  • Quiet & efficientSubmerged operation avoids suction-lift problems and noise.
  • FlexibleOpen-well pump works in tanks, wells and reservoirs.

How to choose the right pump

  1. Know your borehole. Get the casing diameter, total depth and the water level (static and pumping).
  2. Calculate total head. Static lift plus pipe friction plus required delivery pressure.
  3. Estimate flow. Daily water demand and how fast you need it.
  4. Check water quality. Sandy or brackish water needs suitable materials and a sand protection plan.
  5. Pick the pump and cable depth. Allow enough cable and riser pipe for the installation depth.

Installation & care tips

  • Install the pump well below the lowest pumping water level but above the bottom sediment.
  • Use a safety rope or lifting chain — never hang the pump on the cable.
  • Flush the well if it produces sand, which wears the stages quickly.
  • Protect the control box from sun, dust and water.
  • Have the pump pulled and inspected if flow or amps change.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a deep well pump and an open well pump?

A deep well pump is long and slim for boreholes with narrow casings; an open well pump is designed to be lowered into open wells, tanks or reservoirs where there is room for the pump body.

What does the control box do?

The control box contains the starting components and protection for the BORE pump and is installed above ground near the borehole.

How deep can a deep well pump lift water?

It depends on the model, stages and power. Share your depth, flow and casing size and we will suggest a suitable BORE model.

Can I use a deep well pump for irrigation?

Yes. Deep well and open well pumps are widely used for farm and landscape irrigation, often with a pressure tank or controller.

Do you service borehole pumps?

Yes, see pump repair & service.
